    Zang Thang

A little off subject, but doesn"t the Zang Thang cause the hydraulic system to be constantly adjusting? And doesn"t this cause excessive wear to the old pump systems?

    quadrant 'stop' bolt

I reread the article and you're correct. It was talking about 'position control'. Next time I'll focus on the material so as not to be a dummy.

    quadrant 'stop' bolt

The August issue of the Furrows has an article on restoration. It notes in the article that there should be an upper 'stop' bolt in the quadrant slot. My TO 30 doesn't have the upper one. Is it necessary?

    TO-30 Exhaust manifold

I recently installed the same manifold on my 30 and found that I needed to grind some of the areas on the manifold around the stud nuts in order to gain access with a socket or end wrench. Check that before you start to torque it down.

    water pump

On my TO 30, does the water pump have a 'weep hole' that allows coolant to dribble out when the seal or bushing is wearing out?

    Top Water neck for TO-20

When I bought my TO30 it already had a plug brazed in the temperature sensor hole. I bought a used water neck on eBay and installed a temperature gauge. I'll send my old one to you if we think it will fit, but since overheating these old engines tends to crack the block, I'd recommend buying...

    what a site!

I've done that twice now and before you do any wrench bending, hook your truck to it and pull it backwards a couple of inches. That should take the 'load' off the gears. Good luck.

    TO 30 Hand Crank

Thanks Jeff, Got it. I knew it had to be simple. I always have trouble with simple.

    TO 30 Hand Crank

OK. I give up. I've looked through the 'parts list' three times and can't find the hand crank. There doesn't appear to be a 'search' program available. How did you find it?
