Still having IH 684 brake issues

Hi John, I've only just seen your offer to give you a call. Thanks, I'm in the UK so could be an expensive call. I think I've sorted it, I bypassed the equaliser valve with a home made equaliser manifold, and I have no problems since. Thanks for the offer of help. Stuart

    IH 684 Water Temp Sender

I've just changed the water temperature sender on my 684. Until now the gauge never worked, now it seems to work fine, except after a while of running, the gauge is right over in the 'Hot'. The tractor has never over heated even through the summer and even now, although the gauge is right up in...

    IH 684 Water Temp Sender

Still having IH 684 brake issues

I just can't understand why that would be intermittent. If the seals were leaking, would they not leak every time & all the time? I'm not doubting your expertise, I just need to understand why it's happening before I undertake a major strip down to change the wheel cylinder o rings. Thanks.

Hi again all, since my last post, I have bypassed the equaliser valve on the advice of the knowledgable Bernard le mecano. Only different thing I did was rather than just replace the tee's for elbows, I made an equaliser manifold in the lathe so that the brakes are permanently equalised (as I...

    Question for Bernard le mecano

Hi Bernard, with reference to the Equalaiser valve bypass we discussed recently, would it be wise, (as I have the pedals bolted together & won't need independant braking), to couple the 2 pipes to the wheel cylinders, effectivly creating the same circuit as when the equaliser is in service and...

    IH 684 Brake Equaliser Valve

Hi all, I found the following quote from John in WV. I don't know if he's still active on the forum, but I've sent him a mail anyway. '''The reason why the equalizer valve was bypassed was because it was leaking hydraulic oil, which lets air get into the brake system This is because the brake...

    IH 684 Brakes

Hi Caterpillar guy, could you elaborate on 'the third deal in the middle'. Is this a typo?

    IH 684 Brakes

Is it possible to retro fit this tank?, and do you think this could be the issue?

    IH 684 Brakes

No it doesn't have that. Is that what's referred to as the keep fill tank?
