    JD. EO37M

Best I can tell it is the Hand Lever Rope for the mechanical lift of the sickle. (See attachment). I should be going up to our other property and be able to view this, and get some pictures this week. Thanks again for the help!

Thanks to both Jims! You guys are incredibly helpful and I recognize that I have become amazingly inept at navigating the WWW. Thanks again!

    JD. EO37M

Tx Jim, Yes it looks like that one you posted. The guy down the hill from us is selling it, so it isnt mine yet. Was hoping to find out information about it here in the John Deere section like if it is compatible with my Leyland, does it have readily available spare parts, does it cut well...

    JD. EO37M

Hello, I have an opportunity to purchase an EO37M. Curious about the vintage sn. 025915 E I am having a heck of a time finding any manuals about it. It is a hitch/pulled implement with PTO drive. The lift is rope activated. I am told that there is a hydraulic option? I have a...

    Chisel, Disc and Harrow????

Majority is stiff neck (we call it hard neck 'round these parts) with a small quantity of the soft neck. Fortunately we have a large supply of straw that was left in the barn when we bought the property. We will be mulching it heavily.

    Chisel, Disc and Harrow????

Kent, I appreciate your reply - I have been told by some locals to do the same as you suggested. However my ideals fall into the category of being one of those [i:54781419f0]"hippies who ruined this country"[/i:54781419f0] as [b:54781419f0]LAA[/b:54781419f0] mentioned in a different post...

    Any brush hogging tips?

Farmerwithmutt - are you in the driftless area? I'm up on Irma Hill and have found that if I don't run my mower flat that the response for the 'self-leveling' action on the 3-point doesn't respond well. (Leyland 270 w/ 5' 22-178 mower) And being on hilly ground you realize quick that the...

Ford/ New Holland 22-178 lower oil seal

Found a reference diagram that shows that the Ford and New Holland model 22-178 brush hog is one and the same . . . My gear box is losing oil out of the bottom, haven't disassembled it yet, but assume that the lower oil seal (and hopefully ONLY the lower oil seal) is bad. The part is cross...

    Any brush hogging tips?

+1 on the go slow and cut high. Doing multiple passes can save you from frustration . . . like getting stuck on a rock pile - trust me, I know!

    Chisel, Disc and Harrow????

Thanks for the replies. We are looking at doing about a 1/2 acre for our garlic. However this is new property to us and someone mentioned that the best course of action is to plow whatever area we will grow in next year - which will be more like 7 acres. We are scheduled to look at some...

    Chisel, Disc and Harrow????

Very new to tractors and working big soil (been home gardening for years) we just purchased 33 acres on rolling hills, all pasture. Have a Leyland 270 (75hp), we have about 3,000 garlic cloves that need to get in the ground in about a month (northern Wisconsin). What is the best way to...

    new owner - Leyland 270

OJ - thanks for that link . . . I have actually been spending most of my time over there - great resource! Matt - I'm learning more and more about the sweet 270 and am becoming diligent with maintenance. I think I kind of got a crush on this thing . . . just the other day my wife asked me...

    new owner - Leyland 270

Hi, I'm a new tractor owner, recently purchased a Leyland 270, she is a little road worn, leaks a bit and has a non- standard bucket. I need tractor education; within 6 hours of owning her I got stuck on a rock pile. So I have already learned not to drive on rock piles while mowing an over...
