Hello,
I have an opportunity to purchase an EO37M.
Curious about the vintage sn. 025915 E

I am having a heck of a time finding any manuals about it.

It is a hitch/pulled implement with PTO drive. The lift is rope activated. I am told that there is a hydraulic option?

I have a Leyland 270 tractor. Any issues with PTO compatibility?

Any ideas where to locate a manual?

Thanks

Can you tell us what the implement is, not just its serial number, that it is hitch pulled, and that it has a PTO drive? Could it be a sickle bar mower?

Does your sickle mower resemble the model 37 in photo below?

Tx Jim,
Yes it looks like that one you posted. The guy down the hill from us is selling it, so it isnt mine yet.

Was hoping to find out information about it here in the John Deere section like if it is compatible with my Leyland, does it have readily available spare parts, does it cut well on rolling hills and where I can source a manual.

Thanks!

If your Leyland has 540 PTO it will be compatible.

You can download a copy of the Operator's Manual at: https://techpubs.deere.com/

Click on the Equipment Publications button.
Enter Sickle Mower in the Model search area. ( for some reason I couldn't get it to find 37 as a sickle mower)
You should see several choices for the 37, 38, 39 sickle mowers (they are grouped together in the manuals), Click on one and look at the Operator's Manuals they show, compare your serial number to the ones covered in the manual if they show a serial number range. You will see the manuals can be had in different languages. As long as you see a download option with no price, it is a free download.

The parts catalog can be found at: https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc...JT04sNTMxNTojQ0FUQUxPRyw4MzUxMDpFUVVJUE1FTlRd

I think spare cutting parts will be available. If you need frame or mechanism parts they may be harder to come by and I expect some are NLA from JD. Tx Jim may have more insight on parts and how well they operated.

Thanks to both Jims!

You guys are incredibly helpful and I recognize that I have become amazingly inept at navigating the WWW.

Thanks again!

You're welcome
Please explain the rope activated lift or post a photo of that device. If you decide to install a hyd cylinder the size required would be a 3X8

Best I can tell it is the Hand Lever Rope for the mechanical lift of the sickle. (See attachment). I should be going up to our other property and be able to view this, and get some pictures this week.

Thanks again for the help!
