    MASSEY FERGUSON 231 DIESEL

    You can check voltage at starter solenoid with voltmeter when key switch is turned to start position,should be 12 volt's!You may have a bad start switch or broken or almost broken wire's from switch or bad connection in start circuit!Be worth checking,might be one of those!

    Pipe dope for brass gas line connections?

    Have to agree with 504 on GASOIL thread sealant,it is gas resistant,have used it on Super-C where shut off valve and bowl screw into bottom of tank,never has leaked a drop!Even use it on compression fitting nuts as a backup just in case!

    Massey 230 fuel filer replacement

    Should come with new gaskets,replace those!Tighten thumb bolt,bottom center of clear cup fairly tight with just fingers but dont over tighten!It may leak some if it does tighten a little more until it stops!Remove small hex bolt in top center of filter housing,then using priming lever on fuel...

    Put a good pressure guage in the system and see what kind of pressure your pump is putting out!May be your pump just gave out!
