For Sale - Very Rare - 8n TRW high compression sleeve SET

Not sure if this is the right place to put this- was asked by a couple of folks about more information, so I did a bit of digging...come to find out these are ***Very Rare*** It appears these will raise the compression from 6.2:1 to about 8.2:1 still perfect for todays gas, but it won't run on...

    8n towing capacity?

Tiger, Was just semi-kidding around about the timing. But, I do figure if the mowers never boggin' down, then I can mow as fast I the tractor will go. I'm not charging for the mowing, I'm trading for hunting rights, so my only interest is getting it all mowed before it starts growing...

    8n towing capacity?

Im not 100% sure on the motor... my original intention was to use a smaller motor, run it through a transmission (to get to close to 540), then a 1:1 transfer case to the mower. Now, I think what I've got in mind is a plain jane chevy 350 with a belt driven governor out front of the mower (on...

    8n towing capacity?

BIG - there's a 12 footer that's available here for virtually nothing. and I have a motor to drive it. I currently run a 5 footer and it works great, however I have the oppurtunity to bush hog about 75 acres next door to me, and dont want to go buy another tractor, and dont want to spend 1/2...

    8n towing capacity?

Long story short, I have found a couple of shredders available here that could easily be converted to "self powered" If you were using it like one of those ATV pull behind mowers / disc / etc. If your strictly pulling from the drawbar; How big a load could an 8n pull, all day through an...

What in the World??? Cost for Hand Crank???

[b:a4146b58ff]Actually[/b:a4146b58ff], if you never planned on starting it with the crank.... The bolt idea is a good one. you could just use a ratchet with a long extension to do what I need. What size bolt is that? Something esoteric an weird or something standard?

What in the World??? Cost for Hand Crank???

I was giving the old girl a tune up and I was / am looking for a crank handle in order to turn the motor over to set the initial timing on an 8n side mount... I don't "have" to have it, however would be nicer than playing " bounce the motor" with the starter, and then trying to "fine tune"...

What in the World??? Cost for Hand Crank???

Any body got a "N" hand crank that they would let go for something less than its weight in gold? Did Ford gold fill these when people weren't looking? I would like to have one, but the prices I'm seeing (59.99 + shipping) are frankly just stupid. I think I could bend one, and add the...

Reasking an old question 9n/8n Duals- clarification required

I had asked this in the middle of another thread, and wanted to revisit it. If I wanted to use the rear wheels / rims from my 9n as duals on my 8n; is it possible to space the wheels out on both rears, then drill holes in the 8n wheels to mount the 9n rims to the 8n wheels? I think a guy...

Engine conversion? 2n motor / oil pan - really dumb question

What actually supports the front end of the tractor? the oil pan, or the block? In other words if you removed the engine block would the pan still support the front end? There's nothing really connecting the two other than the top of the block @ the transmission connection?
