    Checking Hydraulic level

Buickanddeere: Thank you for your quick response. It's becoming much clearer to me. My apologies for reworking your reply here, but my brain needs to see things in a certain way. Please see if I've gotten this right. My questions or assumptions are in parentheses: --------------...

Hydralic pump JD 2010 / gas

Are you sitting down? Gushing hydraulic fluid = gushing greenbacks. There are lots of posts on this problem. Though not necessarily specific to 2010's, other similar era models (like my 1020) have the same hydraulic system. Your solution will depend on your specific problem, but it doesn't...

    Replacing points on 1020

    Checking Hydraulic level

Buickanddeere: Your response causes me to ask this question: Before we started the tractor, we had replaced the gas tank. During R&R I noticed that the hyd. reserve tank was empty. How does the hyd. reserve tank function? Does it fill up immediately on starting? Does it empty as...

    Replacing points on 1020

    Replacing points on 1020

Hello again: I have a JD 1020 gas 135ci. In a fit of dyslexia, I ordered a tune up kit (points, rotor, condenser) for a 2010. On the back of the package it says "for early JD, 4 or 6 cyl". So, I do the math and divide 6 by 2 and get three, as in cylinders. Does anyone know if this kit...

    Checking Hydraulic level

Hey all: I've got a 1020 3cyl gas 135cu. Last winter we had the thing split, and hydraulic system and power steering rebuilt. It was delivered in the fall and we only ran it a bit. Fluid level was fine. We had problems with the mower that needed attention, so the 1020 sat until...
