    Water Pump for 8N

Thanks for the note Bruce. The thickness of the pump casting at the bolt holes is 13/32". Add for the thickness of the bottom plate on the pump 1/8" making the total thickness at the mounting holes 17/32". Great information Bruce, thanks for the tip.

    Water Pump for 8N

Gentlemen, I have a water pump that fits Ford tractors 9N-2N-8N from 1932-1952. The Tisco number is CDPN8501A. I purchased it new from Fargo Tractor in Fargo, ND and opened the box but never installed it on my tractor. Sometime before I had time to install it on my 8N (which I found out...

    cooling system again

I think I know the answer but want an opinion from someone smarter than me. My 8N is boiling antifreeze and steaming at the top but the lower hose is cold as can be and the radiator is not over filled. I put in a thermostat when I rebuilt this thing and today took out the stat wondering if it...

    Snow blower for 8N

All you smarty guy will probably think I'm nuts but will a 1950 8N handle a 3-point snow blower. I am selling a tractor and one guy is asking about it. I thought it was a bit underpowered but then I looked at a couple videos on line and it may work, just a real pain to look backwards and get...

    8N hood

Where in Michigan. Do you have any pictures of them? My daughter lives in Grand Blanc.

    8N hood

My 8N hood apparently was sprung, bent in a bit so that when I put the hood on, it really doesn't fit well. If I decide to get an after market hood, how much will it detract from the value of the entire tractor. The lower side panels are new because the old ones were trashed so they are after...

    cooling system again, #2

OK. I think I have it figured out. Overfilling may have been the major culprit so currently the fluid level is below what the eye can see, I'll try that. Next, I'm installing a temp gauge (I'm a stubborn German) so I can actually see what the coolant temp is. I just looked on the head and...

    cooling system again

We live just west of Fargo, small town of Mapleton. Been to Brookings many times in my days working for Cenex (CHS). Actually in my working days I covered 13 states totally, some Petroleum accounts and some doing architectural work. After retiring 3.5 years ago, for the first year I didn't...

    cooling system again

My father in law had an old John Deere with the steel wheels that he retired an tried running it once every year and found one year the chipmunks or some rodent stored acorns in the rusted out exhaust pipe and when he got the tractor running after pulling it, the crap came flying out the exhaust.

    cooling system again

Question. If I drive it down the road for 20 minutes, shouldn't the lower hose show some heat by touch??

    cooling system again

Just an FYI. The radiator is new so should be clean. I should get a temp gauge just so I know what temp it is running at. Before I took it apart and did the restoration, it did seem to run fine, maybe just sitting for a few months with no fluids in the block might have dried out the pump...
