    Toro Zero Turn ?

Does anyone here have any experience with Toro Zero Turn mowers? Are they generally good or cheap like Cub Cadets?

    OT--Outdoor Grilling

For our chicken bbq"s (100"s at a time) around here we use half and half gasoline and kerosine. Works about like lighter fluid.

    D-17 Brake Job Report

A week or so ago I posted about a problem re-connecting the brake rods after completing a relining job (series 1, external shoes). It was like building a ship in a bottle. I found several tricks and thought I'd post them for the next guy to be in this pickle. First back off the top adjustment...

    Donate Blood?

The service club in our town sponsors Red Cross blood drives, in fact we're having one tomorrow. The blood IS free, the red cross doesn't pay for it or charge for it. The cost of processing it is not free. The materials they use to collect the blood costs. The people who collect, test...

    D-17 Brake Job

I'm gaining on it! I have the shoes relined and installed, but now I'm stumped on how to thread the brake rods into the toggles at the bottom of the actuating arm. Its like building a ship in a bottle blindfolded. I can see the thread in the toggle (barely) through the hole in the housing, but...

    d-17 manual

I'm in the middle of a brake job on my D-17 right now. The I&T manual gives a brief description of brake relining and adjustment, the official AC service manual I have has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING (go figure). When I needed extra help I got it on the Allis board here.

    D-17 Brake Job

Thanks for the help, guys; wd45man had the answer I was looking for. I didn't get that the brake rod screws into the toggle pin. Once I got the rods out the shoes came out easily. I lucked out on the pins that hold the shoes together, they came right out; I think each side leaks a little gear...

    D-17 Brake Job

I need to reline the brakes on my early serial # D-17, with external shoes. My official AC repair manual doesn't address brakes at all, and my I&T manual is pretty brief. I have everything loose, per the manual, but the shoes won't come out. I think the problem is the brake rods are still...

    What size air compressor?

My son is looking for a new air compressor. Besides the usual tires and basketballs, his main need is to blow out his lawn sprinkler lines in the fall. He wants to blow the water out at 40 psi without running out of air and waiting to re-pressure. I can't figure out how to convert this to cfm...

Timer controller for tractor block heater

A word of warning: over the last several years, two dairy farmers in our small town have had block heaters fail. In each case, it set the tractor on fire and that spread to the barn. Both barns a total loss, one got almost all the stock out, only lost a dozen calves or so. The other I don't...

    Rear Stud Extenders

I need to get some rear wheel stud extenders (also known as flange nuts) to bolt on wheel weights on a 2000 (4cyl). Steiner has them for $11, does anyone know of a better deal? Thanks.

Sorry, I finished splitting and took the splitter off, so I can't take a pic. I attached the splitter using 2 sectioned baler needle yokes; and use an arm to the rock shaft to raise it. The remote hydraulics (that usually go with the fast hitch) run it. I run it at an idle and it does work a...
