Got me a 1950 Harry Ferguson last week.

Clean out the canister air filter mesh and add new oil to it. Clean the gas filter screen. Check if there is a little screen inside the carb entrance. Do an oil change with a can of BG EPR. Consider upgrading to a Pertronix electronic ignition at some point. Don't use the tractor without an over...

    Question for the experts..

Probably time to clean and change the oil in the air cleaner too. Spray a bunch of carb cleaner up into the air cleaner mesh to clean it out as well. Or you can take the entire canister off the tractor and soak it in some gas. Make sure all the air cleaner hose clamps are tight.

    Question for the experts..

Do you have the rubber cover on your gear shifter? If not buy one. Time to change the oil and filter. Throw a can of BG EPR oil flush in there when you do it for good measure too.

    Massey 35. Stumbles bad uphill.

When is the last time that the coil was replaced? Might be something to look at as well.

How to replace Leaking 1951 to-30 gear box arm seal

Replace the oil in it with John Deere corn head grease and save yourself the aggravation about worrying about it further.

Doing rear main seal - what else while split open?

I would consider resurfacing and balancing your flywheel.

    Amateur Hour: TO-30 splitting

Replace the disk and the pressure plate too while you're at it. You definitely don't want to have to split the tractor again near term.

    Amateur Hour: TO-30 splitting

I disagreed. I think you should take the flywheel to a machine shop and have it resurfaced and balanced. They should also deal with the splitting edge. You probably don't want to have to split the tractor again for the next 10-20 years. Cheap insurance to have things done right so as to avoid...

    1952 TO30 won’t start (no power/noise at all)

I'd run a jumper cable to the starter to see if it turns over. If not then you have a starter issue.

MH 101 Senior lower rear main seal filler block

No thank you. I have a Willy's pickup with a Continental 226 engine. I was hoping that the lower rear main seal filler block would be the same as the MH 101 Senior, as the Willy's filler blocks (rope gasket style) are very hard to find. But they're different parts. I was able to find one off a...

Hi does anyone have a picture of the lower real main seal filler block for the MH 101 Senior with a Continental engine? Thanks

Ferguson TO35 starter rebuild or replace??

I have always preferred to give business to the local alternator/starter rebuild shop. It keeps them in business for when you truly need them. Internet prices for a replacement seem to be $160-350 range so get a quote from your local guy first. Is your starter 6v or 12v? If you can't get it...

    TO 30 Hydraulics Questions

Install a Zane Thang as it really helps when brush hogging.

    Implement question

Install a Zane Thang and pertronix electronic ignition. Make sure you have a rubber cup on the shifter base to keep out stuff. An ORC is mandatory for safety. Remember to close the gas line under the tank after each use. Happy farming!
