    464 tranny dipstick....

While 528054R2 is obsolete, it subs to 528054R5 which is readily available at your friendly CaseIH dealer. I currently have the old part number in my 674, but I have used the new part number in others. The new one has a plastic handle, but should be the same otherwise.

    ford 3000

Wasn't it the early 2000 and 4000 that looked like the old 801? So far as I know, the 3000 didn't exist in the earlier 4cyl version. Split to newer 3cyl 2000/3000/4000 series came in 1965 if I am remembering correctly.

    c clutch (auburn VS rockford)

Both discs sub to the same part # 56631DB BUT you may well have ended up with some other random disc for another tractor. Things like that happen...

oops or how not to fix 674 steering

After throwing the cylinder into the parts washer this evening, I'm of the opinion that it was just time for it to go. It was one of those things where I couldn't imagine anything that would cause the problem, but the problem magically appeared after I made a tiny change. Tightening the rod into...

oops or how not to fix 674 steering

Since I have had the 674, I have been annoyed by the way one of the lines for the steering cylinder hung below the axle. I had some free time this evening so I was going to build a little skid plate to protect it. After working on the plate and just about calling it done, I took another look at...

    ih 510 loader

The 510 Case loader I know of was used on 5120/30/40. Considering those were made in the early 1990s, the dealer likely can get parts. There are likely several in salvage yards too. Are we talking about the same loader? What are you expecting the loader to fit?

    mower ID

Anyone know about this mower? Guy says it is a JD, but it might just be green. I've never seen anything quite like it, and honestly, I'm kind of curious.

    Size of 300 axles

Breakdowns show it to be either 2 1/2" or 2 3/4" depending on the axle you have. Since you measured them at 2 1/2", I'd go with that. You'll also have the felt washer in there. BTW, the IH breakdown doesn't show the axle size, but you can find it under on 235 of the farmall set.

    HELP!!! hydraulic gear

Do we know what else changed with the later serial numbers? Is it a possibility that you could make those changes and use one of the later gears since they are both available? It might be so involved that it isn't worth it, and if that is the case, I'd keep looking in salvage.

    574 help

I had the same thing happen to me after I pulled the tank on my 674. I could start the tractor, and it would die after 10 seconds. If I let it sit, it would be ready for another start in a minute or so. It turned out that I broke loose just enough rust and general muck to clog things up. I...

    aftermarket vendors

Sparex was my missing vendor/maufacturer or whatever. They are the ones that make/sell the tach. So now I know. In case anyone else is wondering--the big four (or so it seems to me): Tisco, A&I, Sparex, and Hy-Capacity. It seems sparex has a few unique items that the other aftermarket...
