    hydraulics and 3 point

I believe I have figured this out, but I will run it by the guru's. '51 8n, started giving me fits with a scraper bucket. I got stuck going downhill! it wouldn't break out and lift up....I have cleaned out the chambers previously when I put in the new PTO and have fresh ( and NOT contaminated...

    Rest-o-ride seat

I went with Korves. I called Steiner and they confirmed that theirs were made of Chinesium. For 35 bucks more, I got the good ones. Gramps always said it you don't have time to do it, you certainly don't have time to do it again the right way.

    Rest-o-ride seat

I appreciate that! I just finished up my seat and used it for the first time last night. It was....fun,lol. nothing really went like I thought it should. Bushings were not correct, needed to be cut in half. (too long) There were tabs holding the old bushings in the frame that had to be delt...

    Rest-o-ride seat

Thank you! I've never ordered from them before so was checking on the shipping aspect. Seems like every time I order from Steiner I end up waaay north of the dollar amount I was going to spend. Maybe this will help me focus on ONE item that I actually need. :) side note* I went and helped a...

    Rest-o-ride seat

Dont know whether to start a new thread or continue on with this one? I have removed my seat and have all the parts "moving" (nothing is rusted in place). I have what I believe to be a simple question: The big rubber springs are available at two places with slightly different pricing. I DON'T...

    Rest-o-ride seat

I came close....next time I will. At least it's ford red and light gray now. I need the tractor at Least every other day right now. Hopefully I will find another one reasonable that has better tires and I will do this one over :)

    Rest-o-ride seat

you are correct. I took the seat off today so I could paint the Blue, RED! I took a 3 lb hammer and tapped the end of the threads while putting pressure on the T handle. After a couple turns I could see that the right spring appeared to be the only one moving.( the side with the adjustment...

    nuts and bolts

It seems like the more I work on my 8n the more I find that irritates my ocd nerve! Since I now have the hood off for the 19th or 20th time this month I decided to check/adjust the valves and paint that side of the engine. Simple right? 3 different size fasteners and 1 metric bolt! I keep...

    Rest-o-ride seat

I've been hitting mine with kroil here and there, maybe it will free up by the time I get to the seat! I was painting the engine yesterday ( too cold toay) and I was going to pull the starter so I could get behind there.....nope! half way out I decided it's NOT the time for that fight and put it...

    Rest-o-ride seat

I can't stand on the axles and pull up on the seat and make it move. I took a pry bar and tried to move each side individually, the left side didn't move as much as the right. Neither moved much. From what little research I have done, I surmise the inner bushings are rusted up and it most likely...

    Rest-o-ride seat

Is that the situation here? It's loaded up (compressed) too far. Sort of like someone had it set too light for a heavier operator. Or did something break and cause this condition? I just don't see how it got screwed in that far in the first place, now it makes sense :) btw, how did you fare...

    Rest-o-ride seat

While working on many other things I have been eyeballing this seat and wondering how in earth did someone get it adjusted like that? Furthermore, how am I going to back the adjustment back out? Is this something I will just have to do my best to disassemble to remove it and then restore...
