What have I got ?
I recently bought a Ford [5000] ???. The tractor was advertised as a Ford 5000. It was delivered last night about dark. This morning I was checking it out and thats when I noticed it was a 3 cylinder. I have doubts about it being a 5000. The numbers behind starter look like they have been ground... -

I"ve never been around a Ford 5000 but I"ve heard several older farmers say it was the best tractor they ever owned. I am wanting a different tractor to pull my 9" haybine. Have any of you had experience using a 5000 ? Would they make a good tractor for mowing. What were the transmission options...
