51 JD B First Reduction Cover

Thanks for the tips. I'll give it another go when I get back this weekend. I did all the steps mentioned but couldn't quite find the sweet spot. Todd

51 JD B First Reduction Cover

I need to replace my worn clutch lever bushing and the outer bearing on the First Reduction Gear. Is there a trick to removing this cover. The big gear wants to wedge and the crankshaft limits how farm back I can move it. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks Todd

    Cockshutt 40 50 Transmission Ratos

I believe the 4th and 6th gears had some variations in the number of teeth. For the gear TG-10233 the parts book says it has 33-23 teeth I've found some with 33-25 and for TG-10236 it says has 40 teeth and I've found some with 38. The tire/rim size can also come to play. For this you would have...

    G-262 Engine Assembly

I just had a gentleman call that thought he had a good oil pump. He also said that page 20 of his AC D-19 service manual states that the numbers on the on the rod caps are to be in register and face AWAY from the camshaft side of the engine. Now I have an Engine and Dr. Allis that contradicts...

    AC G262 Engine Assembly

My neighbor has a Cockshutt 40 that had the engine replaced with a AC G262 combine engine some years back. It recently had to be torn apart due to an oil pump failure. Upon inspection of his engine, I see that the numbers on the rod caps are facing the cam. I don't have an AC manual but have a...

    Oil Holes G-262 Rocker Shaft

Not looking at anything big. Just trying to match about what they had. So looking at 6 to 8 gpm and then setting the pressure around 1200-1500 psi. Torque load on governor drive should about match original.

    Oil Holes G-262 Rocker Shaft

Your thoughts seems reasonable to me. I also have E-4's powered by the G262. They seem like a solid engine. It's kind of interesting to see what different tech manuals call out for specs. Another thing I noticed was that BUDA calls out for a pretty hefty torque on 3/8" rod bolts. Working...

    Oil Holes G-262 Rocker Shaft

The D-19 service manual for the G262 gas says that the oil holes in the valve rocker shaft should face towards the head. The B series Buda service manual has an illustration showing these holes facing up. My engine has them facing up. The two manuals don't seem to agree. What is the best...

    Self-locking rod nuts

I?m in the process of rebuilding an AC G-262 gas engine. The connecting rods use a marsden type self- locking nut. The AC specs for rod torque is 40 to 45 ft-lbs. The engine I am working on had 1 rod with the wrong nuts on it. It had cotter style nuts on it but the bolts for the connecting...

    Piston Measurement for G262 Gas

Does anyone know what the measurement for a piston for a allis G-262 from Gleaner C is. Someone lost my pistons for me (movers as we recently moved) and now I'm on a witch hunt. I got new sleeves from melling with an ID of 3.562. My understanding is that these are standard size. What would be...

    Tie Rod Ends

The only critical dimension for me is the tapper. It appears to be 1:12 tapper. Top .720 bottom .645 and the length of tapper is .90. Their are 9/16" fine threads 5/8" long at the end of the tapper.

    Tie Rod Ends

Looking for tie rods ends to fit a Co-op E4 SWF with part numbers TO-8870 and TO-8869. I can find parts for the AWF with TF-10800 and TF-1802 ends. Does anyone know if the tapered pin that fits into the steering arms the same? Developing a power steering system that will require custom built...
