    Carb issues

    I checked the firing order, it's ok. I'm going to tackle adjusting the carb tomorrow. Don't know how critical the relief valve spring is, the choke isn't really on all the time anyway. Got several printouts on how to adjust, so, tomorrow is another learning opportunity.

    Been heavily using choke to try to get it started. Tractor still won't start and now gas coming out of the air intake. I'm in a quandry, since I split the carb apart to look at the float I'm thinking I should get a replacement gasket set. I guess the main gaskets are pretty much the same...

    I've got a Marvel-Schebler with a 16 B stamped on the side - I can't discern any TSX___ stamping on this carb. I've got gas coming out of the air intake, so, am looking for repair parts, but, don't know which model Marvel-Schebler I've got. Any help would be appreciated.

    No adjustments were made on the hydraulics, they just stopped working. Don't know about the diverter valve, help me to find out where it would be located. This is a stock John Deere, no mods have been made to it.

    Ok, a newbie question, but, see that bolt under the spring, sandwiched between two plates? It's part of the throttle linkage. What does that bolt do? I'm noticing that my throttle linkage slips a bit. IE: when you turn up the throttle the lever turns but starts to slip a bit. I'm wondering...

    Thank you for the input. I was mainly concerned if there was any mechanical reason I couldn't use the governor: different size gears, shaft, bearings, throttle connectors, etc. If it's the same governor except the option for proofmeter linkage, then I will just use the new one.
