    Thanks, Eric and Powered. Cap and plug wire ends look ok (no green corrosion), but I'll try cleaning everything. No ballast resistor in system.

    The "before" photo is 12.4-28 tires on 9-inch rims, and the "after" photo is new 11.2-28 tires on the same 9-inch rims.
