On Topic. 1st tractor owned and inherited

First tractor I drove was a 1945 H farmall in the mid 1950's. My dad and grand dad's tractor . Now I own it .Still runs good and I turned it back red about 4 years ago. Wouldn't trade it for a new one. Tommy

    Steel Arch buildings?

I don't know but a friend has one to put up. 50 ft by 50 ft. We don't have any experience so it will be learning as we go. He has the instruction that came with it. Looks like we will have several others to help and one of them has put 2 up. They look like nice buildings. Tommy

    Kobalt air compressor

Finally got back to the air compressor this weekend. Soaped it good , had a small leak around the drain plug. Couldn't make it seal so I replaced the peacock. Maybe that will do it, Thanks for the help. Tommy

    100lb feed bags

In the early 60's all our dairy feed came in hundred lb bags. I was a teenager then and we got 20 tons of citrus pulp at one time. Most came in a closed van trailer. I remember how dusty it was and also the citrus pulp weighed the same as other feed but the bags were a lot bigger. It was harder...

    Kobalt air compressor

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have been strapped for time several days and have not had a chance to check any further. Hopefully by the weekend, I can check it out. I will post back when I find the trouble. Thanks again, Tommy

    Kobalt air compressor

Leaks down real slow. I can't hear or feel the air escaping but comes on pretty often when I'm not using it. I'm guessing maybe a reed valve leaking if it has a reed valve. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks Tommy

    Costco

I don't like any store where they charge a fee for you to shop there. May be some good deals but sometimes a small family owned store will be cheaper. Tommy

    today's funny

Reminds me of the fellow that got a thermos bottle for his birthday. He asked what it was for. Somebody told him it was to keep hot things hot or cold things cold. The next day he took it it work, and carried cold tea and hot soup in it.

Back when I was young. OT

When I was real young I was bad to catch my Pop's bumper when he pulled in the yard. I was spanked several times but didn't pay attention. So one day when he turned in the dirt driveway, I caught the bumper and tripped up. He saw me in the mirror but kept on slow for 20 or 30 feet. I got up...

    Onion for lunch???

I like raw vidalia onions when they are in season. Eat just like a biscuit with vegetables. A friend used to make an onion sandwich. He said turn it black with pepper and then turn it back white with salt.

    Common and uncommon road names

Apt-To- Miss Rd in Jasper Co. I was working for a customer in south Jasper Co on a dirt rd. I asked him where the road came out. He said if you are real careful and don't make any wrong turns you will come out in Juliette in 45 minutes. I asked where If I made a wrong turn. He said I don't...

    It's so cold that...

I had a 77 f250 one time and it had poor heat even when it was new. When the temperature was in the teens and twenties, I would stop while driving 15 miles to work and get out and walk around to warm up. Could be the truth and could not be. Tommy

    Hole in hammer

If it says Bell System, it should be pre 1984. Bell System was broken up by the courts in 1984 I think. AT&T was the parent Co. After the breakup , all the operating companies were not part of AT&T for many years. Now they have bought some of them back. I don't know how many but Bellsouth for...

    Hole in hammer

That is a line hammer. Used to drive "drive hooks" in poles, or ground rods. After drilling half inch holes in poles with a brace and bit, you drove pole steps with it. You could straighten the steps with the hole in the head to turn the bend on the step up to keep your boot from slipping off...
