    long 3-point backhoe

Try a very good hydraulic supply center. Your valve assembly might just be from a common hydraulic parts manufacturer and not made by Long. I needed the same linkage for an old Terramite. The company I get my hoses and seals from had the linkage pieces on their shelf. They were made by Parker.

    231 fuel problem

Terry, Thanks for the update. I was tempted several times to reach out and see if you diagnosed the problem. Being a 231 owner I'm sure I will run into this sooner or later. .

    231 fuelissues

Terry I have a 231 but have not encountered this problem. I did have something similar happen with another tractor. I changed the fuel filter and cleaned out sediment collected in the tank and system. If you have not done this already it might be a good time to do so. When you prime the system...

Homemade packer, what width behind a 10 foot drill?

Agree with the too heavy for a drill frame statement. A 15" concrete.... cylinder would weigh about 2200 pounds, I also think it would bulldoze soft soil with that radius,

    replacement fuel tank recomendations

Graham, That's what I tried to do when I went to the parts store. The guy at the counter wanted a make and model to search for a unit. I was instructed to research different engines to see what would work and then they would order one. The reason I asked for a universal one was to save all the...

    replacement fuel tank recomendations

I have an old Terramite that is missing the fuel tank. Where can I get a replacement fuel tank in the 2 to 3 gallon size for this tractor? Local parts stores can get any tank you want for newer engines provided you have the make and model. Parts are no longer available for this engine. Is there...

    Help!- clogged fuel injector

Today I tried to start a 1 cylinder diesel engine (Lombardini) that had been sitting unused in the shed for 8 years. The fuel injection system primed easily and appeared to work fine. It had steady pulsations of fuel from the end of line at the injector connection. The engine would fire with...

    oil drain plug washer

The only drain plug washer that didn't leak oil from my Perkins engine were those crush washers I used to get from the dealer. The local Massey dealer has been gone for a few years now. Where can I get those crush washers? Local auto parts stores don't appear to have them. What type washer do...

    Perkins starter trouble

I was using my Massey (Perkins 3 cyl. diesel) today which started without any trouble twice this morning. The third time I tried to start it this afternoon it did nothing. Cleaned the battery terminals, charged the battery and the best I can get is a single "click" when I turn the key. The...

    Rural King, TSC. Agri Supply

Great store! Over an hour drive from my house but worth the ride for some things. They are very good to deal with on the phone and internet sales. If you are making a long trip to the Petersburg VA store, stop by the keystone tractor and truck museum which is nearby...

How to flush a hydraulic tank?

Jack, This sounds like the way to go. If one manufacturer recommend diesel fuel to clean, it should be safe for others. I think I will let fuel sit in the tank for a few days to let it work. I have a air wand I can get into the tank to stir it up and to dry it out after flushing. Thanks

How to flush a hydraulic tank?

I have a hydraulic tank with lots of sludge on the bottom. What solvent should I use to flush the tank? The tank has a 2" fill opening and a 2" opening near the bottom where the sump filter is. There is no way to reach inside and clean with rags. I would like to put a couple inches of solvent in...

    Need someone good with math

Did a quick calculation and I think it's approximately 1'-8". Lay it out on a 4' wide sheet of plywood to check. Put a center line at 2', measure 10" on each side and make a 45 degree angle from each mark. See if the angled sides come up close to that.
