    Wish you were closer to mid Missouri. I have an 8n that I have completely rebuilt motor plus lots of other new parts. I have $2300.00 invested in the engine. I have been trying to sell the tractor for 2000.00 OBO and have no takers.

    Great idea on the pre lube. I guess I am getting anxious to hear it run, plus I figured if I had engine troubles I would find out before all the work was done. I will wait until it is complete before starting it. thanks guys

    When you start a fresh engine for the first time. Do you spin it over without spark plugs to build oil pressure? I have the motor ready to fire, but have not finished the rear 1/2. No hydro pump or PTO shaft installed. If I run the motor with no tranny fluid, will it destroy the front bearing...

    Thanks for the compliments. I have been working on it for awhile. As far as the manifold. I had it sand blasted and painted it. Can't remember what brand of high temp coating it is. When I get back to the shop I will check. I have been using it on my Muscle car restorations, it holds up well.

    I guess this gets us all. The head gasket went bad, followed by antifreeze in the oil destroying the bearings. Crank was turned, Block was bored and .090th sleeves installed, new pistons, new valves, springs, guides, cam and lifters. Block decked along with the head. ( valve to piston clearance...
