    New tube for 8n

I failed to mention that stem hole on the rim is all rusted out so I’ll have that repaired and drill a new hole in a new location. That stem calls for a 5/8 inch hole which seems awfully large for a valve stem. So do I have to be critical on where to put that new hole?

    New tube for 8n

Yes tr218, not sure what you mean about the hole being off center , but I’ll figure it out. Thanks for the confirmation that it will work.

    New tube for 8n

I’m putting a new tube in the rear wheel of the 8n. the hole in the rim is right on the curved part of the rim, will the tr18a valve stem on the new tube seat alright on that curved edge?

    Tire chains

You guys that run chains on your ford tractors in the winter, do you like them tight so they don’t move or do they work better if they’re just a tad loose?

    Dirt scoop and snow

I’ve got an 8n with chains and back blade and it works fine in most snow, I was just Curious if anyone had used a the rear scoop bucket for snow removal. I can see where it might come in handy if you had some drifts that were too much for just a back blade. Growing up we had a plow on the...

It’ll start if I jump across the resistor leads, does that mean the resistor is bad?

1950 8n front dist. 6v system . No start. Been through the distributor 3 times making sure everything is working properly, points adjusted to 15 , did all the continu tests (points open, points closed , coil off and finally coil on ,and everything checks out. Put it back on tractor still no...

    Spark issues

I may have stated it wrong , I did jump it from the negative post which is the Hot side not the grounded positive post.

    Spark issues

Correct , that’s what I did the first time and it started , but then it wouldn’t work the next time I tried it.🤔

    Spark issues

Just to clear things up, when I first jumped it and it started I had the jumper from the coil to the negative battery terminal, not the positive terminal which is the ground.

    Spark issues

I took the dist. off again cleaned points and made sure everything was working there as far as doing continuity testing. Put it back on,still no fire. So I put a jumper wire across the two leads coming from the back of the key switch (assuming that’s what you meant) and still nothing. Put a...
