John Deere 790 instrument cluster
Need to change the meter assembly (back panel) in the instrument cluster. To remove the old one, I need to pull 6 screws that hold the meter assembly and the 3 needles. I have the screws taken care of but how do I pull the needles? I tried pulling straight out but they did not loosen up and I...- twingum

Yes, I have the inline CPA/DPA type, and there is no priming pump between the filter and the injection pump. I had no idea there was a filter inside the endplate. Thank you for the sketches they are worth 1000 words. The written instructions are also very clear. Looks like this is a job where... -

I put a new fuel filter as suggested. I checked for leaks in the lines but found none. Engine is clean as I washed it a couple of years ago when changing injectors and doing a valve adjustment; should be able to see leaking. To make sure I went through every connection in the fuel system and... -

Thank you. When searching for leaks what exactly am I looking for? Diesel flowing out of fuel line connections or gaskets? Or could the leaks be internal and not obvious during a visual inspection? -

Have had a Ford 2000 3 cyl diesel for about 30 years. Lately it has become hard to start. I must bleed the fuel lines multiple times until it eventually starts. Fuel Gauge reading backwards?
I know this is an old thread, but just in case a solution was found. I installed a new sending unit and now the gauge reads backwards, i.e., as the tank empties the needle moves towards full. -

Seems you are doing quite well mentally. I guess helping people in this forum troubleshoot their problems keeps you sharp. Good strategy. I might try something like that (won't be tractors).- twingum
