    Head bolt torque?

    What is the recomended torque for 22-36 head bolts? I am more than a little leery of overstressing 84 year old head bolts, and would like to stay on the safe side. Also, there is no sign of grey paint, even under the coating of grease and dirt on this tractor. Is it possible it came from the...

    I originally estimated the rebuild for the tractor to be about 2,500 for the entire tractor, but the engine is so warn out that pretty much all parts inside the engine will need to be replace, including the crank shaft because of deep gouges.     You mean you really have to hit it that hard? My engine block is on the stand, would that break the block?

    starter removable

    Just a wild idea, can you remove the bottom plate on the bell housing to view the front end of the starter to see if it is hung up or something. I am new to this, so forgive me if this was a stupid idea.

    Sleeves out

    I have the engine on the stand and most of the parts removed, how do I get the sleeves out? Also, does the oil filler tube must come out for acid bath? What about the nozzle for oil dip stick?

    I am not sure how to measure it, so I think I should replace both gears to be safe.

    Valve seats

    As some of you know, I am going to rebuild the TO20 engine. What about the valve seats? Will the new valves that comes with the kit fit the valve seats as it should? Is there any issue regarding leaded gas vs unleaded gas that are used today?
