    Older tractor and "V" rake

Our hay fields are fairly flat, for southwest Missouri :) But really, no steep hills at all, just what I consider gentle slopes. I'm probably not doing it right, but I've never made a race out of doing my hay, so speed is not a big concern for me. Right now I'm using a 2440 JD for a...

    Older tractor and "V" rake

I have a 12 wheel "V" rake and I'm wanting to pull it with an older tractor, I'm thinking something in the Farmall M class? Do you think an M would pull it ok? Would the hydraulics be enough to lift the wings? What other tractors might you suggest?

    Hesston 845 round baler

Anyone have an opinion on the Hesston 845 round baler? Looking at one tomorrow.

    OT: Lincoln LS

I had a 2002 for a about 6 years. Great car, comfortable ride. I did not have any issues with it. Traded it in when it had about 190k on it. Still had a lot of life left.

    Field recovery

I have a 20 acre field that I am trying to reclaim for hay/pasture. It was full of small cedar trees and multi-flora rose bushes. I set my brush-hog about 8" high and hogged it all down. I am wanting to reclaim this as fast as possible, but understand this will be a process. My...

    1650 diesel in oil

Hey guys, I have a 1964 Oliver 1650 that is dumping diesel in the oil. Replaced transfer pump. Rebuilt injector pump. Still doing it. Any ideas?

    1650 Rebuild

I have an early model 1650 diesel that I'm considering having the engine rebuilt. Does anyone have an idea what ballpark I'm looking at for cost? I realize it will depend on what is wrong once they get in there, but I want to have an idea what I'm going to be investing in this 50 year old...

Ford Sq baler with auger feed

I have two of those old balers setting in the fence row. One is older than the other, it has more chains than belts.

    Drum mower questions

I have a Reese 2400 that I bought used 4 years ago. I use it on a 1650 Oliver and it handles it just fine. They are a heavy machine, you will need a tractor with some weight to it. I have also used it on my 2440 JD, but it's a bit much for that tractor to handle. As for my opinion of them, I...

    Cab tractor project

How are the cabs on the 2-105 Whites? Fairly quiet? I realize something of that era can't compare to what we have today, but I also want to be able to hear myself think :) Does the air conditioning keep the cab comfortable enough in hot weather?

    Cab tractor project

Lets say a budget of 10-15k for the tractor.

    Cab tractor project

If you were to buy and fix up a late 70's to 80's cab tractor, in the 80-110 HP range for hay/loader work. What would you buy, and what are the reasons you would choose that model? Lets assume that most dealerships are readily available for tractors made in that era.

    Boar hog questuon

The first pair of hogs I raised I cut. I haven't cut any since, and I can't tell any difference in the taste or smell as they're cooked. I have raised all of them, 12 total, to about 250-275 lbs. All farm hogs of varied breeds, nothing wild or feral.

    Reese drum Mower

I have concerns that your 460 will handle the 2400. I have a 2400 and use it on a 2440 JD (60hp) and an Oliver 1650 (67hp). It is a very heavy machine, and all that my tractors want to carry around, in fact, the end of the cutter bar barely clears the ground when I have it lifted with the 3...
