641 leaking fuel shutoff valve ... a few questions.

I don’t have a question but can report my experience fixing the fuel valve leak on my Ford 641 without removing the valve cover or raising the gas tank. I couldn’t get a wrench on the fuel valve to fuel line connection (not even a flare wrench). So I removed the two bolts that secure the valve...

    641 Loader Bucket Teeth

Thanks all for your comments. I always learn from them. Like I mentioned earlier, I do not ever get a full rounded scoop of anything in the big bucket unless its fluff, like mulch. With compacted dirt, I am satisfied with a half bucket. No doubt, a smaller bucket would be more suited...

64 Ford 4000 overheated and blew rad cap off

Hopefully, the axle repair is good for a few decades of service. This seems like a good thread to ask a general axle question. For an axle pivot that is somewhat wallowed but still serviceable, would it be helpful to wick some type of dry lubricant in the area of wear? I have read that liquid...

    641 Loader Bucket Teeth

Thanks all for the opinions and information. My original question was would adding bucket teeth get the same work done with a little less effort from the tractor. A couple of you thought it may help. I will start looking at various types. Since I will want to remove it occasionally, a bar...

    641 Loader Bucket Teeth

Thanks all for the comments and information. Here, I included a couple of pictures to clarify my thoughts. One pic is the entire tractor rig and the other is an example of piles of settled dirt I want to move. The 641 has power steering and a utility industrial front axle. I do not ever get...

    641 Loader Bucket Teeth

I am looking for suggestions for adding teeth to my 641 loader bucket. The loader numbers are I9-20I and 4950. I have never used a bucket with teeth. I imagine they loosen compact soil to fill the bucket easier. I have several piles of compact soil and feel the tractor clutch may last longer...

    Sherman's

I have always hoped there was a way to pull a garden tiller behind my 641 but the explanation from Sean in PA suggests it is not in my future, even with a Sherman transmission graft. Thoughts?

    Classic or Modern View?

Still learning...I hit the wrong reply button earlier and it placed this post second in line. This is where it should have been. Since there are two formats, 1. Which should I use for an initial post to reach the most people? 2. Should I stick to one view throughout the conversation? 3. If I...

    Ford 600 issue

Check for slip between the spindle and steering arm. They should rotate as one.

    Classic or Modern View?

Since there are two formats, 1. Which should I use for an initial post to reach the most people? 2. Should I stick to one view throughout the conversation? 3. If I see a response on the other view, should I then use that view to respond? 4. Is one better than the other for photos? 5. At...

    Classic or Modern View?

I love this site, but I have to ask, probably because I don’t understand the purpose of each; what is the purpose of having two formats for posts and views? I see that the classic view index links to each conversation entry, whereas the modern view index links only titles but includes page...

    Front Wheel Ring Spacers

I have a 641 with FEL and light industrial axle. I would like to gain a little space between the steering arm bolt housing and the tires without reversing the rims. Once in a while, the metal just barely kisses the tire. Tires are 6.00-16 light truck with 45psi. I think a quarter inch thick...

Re: Ouch! 641 Broken Axle (Replaced)

Can you please tell me where I can get new spindles for my light industrial axle? Thanks.

    Ouch! 641 Broken Axle (Replaced)

Update on axle/spindle project. I inspected and repacked the wheel bearings, replaced the spindle bushings, thrust bearings, washers & seals. A saws-all helped cut a groove in the old upper bushings to get them out but couldn't get the axle high enough to get the saws-all under the lower...

    Ouch! 641 Broken Axle (Replaced)

Mr. U-Dog. If that blue steering/axle in your picture is as good on the inside as it looks on the outside, you have a nice piece piece of machinery. Did you use it or is it for sale?
