    heat pumps

Avoid York. Our HVAC guys stopped carrying them and were replacing them for no labor charge. Compressors didn't last and they got tired of servicing them. We had our York compressor replaced twice before they replaced the whole system. Don't recall the name of the replacement.

Changed HST fluid in old JD mower L188x

I have a JD GT275 that has a TT K70 transmission. It has a drain and a filter. When I got it I don't think it had ever been changed, oil was black and the filter was too. It is only my backup mower now and I use it to pull a yard vac that we clean pastures with.

    Transmission snake oil update

From what I can see on my Subies the engine just unbolts from the front of the transmission like RWD vehicles. The prop shafts for the front wheels come out of the sides of the transmission with a drive shaft out the rear for the rear wheels. However, not sure what is inside the beast.

    Insurance

Folks, check your policy. Some don't cover basements or foundations, or structures below ground. My company had a commercial policy that did not include foundations, but they could be added. The other policy did include underground and foundations. In fact read your policy in its entirety, don't...

How many people call you and want to borrow a tool?

Not me but my brother loaned a former neighbor some long wood extension ladders that our dad gave to him. By the time brother tracked the scumball down he had SOLD the ladders and couldn't remember who he sold them to. I don't loan tools.

    Premium Voltage Regulator

Go with the 12 V conversion, you won't be sorry and will wonder why you waited. No voltage regulator needed. Did this on my '41 8N and haven't' looked back.

I wanna know where I can get a battery like this.

I finally broke down and changed the timing belt on our '10 Forester at 200,000 miles and changed out the idlers and water pump and oil pump. I don't t think I had very much in parts, seems like under $300 at the time. I didn't buy Subaru parts, however. It is not that big an expense to save the...

where is a good place to find reasonably priced implemen

All of mine did too, except for a 60" rotary mower that I got new at TSC. We used to have a very large consignment auction twice a year and was able to find what I needed there. Sadly, they discontinued it, was always a fun day and got some good bargains.

    Educate Me

I worked for a meat processor who made hamburger for many Ohio Wendy's locations back in the early '80s. What we used was NOT scrap trim meat. The beef came in big tubs and was some sizable chunks. We couldn't mess around with little scraps in a production environment. I expect the expensive...

design problem [ scooter carrier and tow dolly for car

This is what my in-laws did. Towed the car (a Honda mini van) on a dolly behind the motor home with the FIL's scooter mounted on the car. They did that for a couple of years and sold the van for a CRV with the same mount for the scooter. But FIL died before the maiden voyage of that rig and MIL...

    PicsResults-Estate Sale 6 Tractors-Low Mile 2005 Chev PU

I have an identical spec '05 except mine is a crew cab and has 114,000 miles on it. I ran a KBB on it recently and it came in at about $15,000 retail. Thinking I'll keep it awhile longer since it appears it's a bad time to buy a new or used truck.
