Neither are very expensive, and easily available. Waste fat and bacon drippings are dang near free if your pennies are THAT tight!

Grease or beeswax. If it comes off, refresh it. It's cheap and effective.

    Boosting the TO-30?

Thanks for all the replies. Actually I wasn't looking so much for overbore, but higher compression pistons. With the info y'all have given, I may just try both (I can get pistons made).

    Boosting the TO-30?

Farmall made available the "Fire Crater" upgrades for their old 113 (A, B, & C tractors). Has anyone done anything likewise for the Continental Z-129?

    what is this part?

Just a long shot, but check for a "clean spot" on your tractor. We had a large washer like that, finally found it had been stuck on the tractor with dirt/grime and painted over. Never was even a part of the tractor.

    TO-30 project

Believe it or not, molasses is very good for rust removal of small parts, and you can batch clean them many at one time! http://virtualindian.org/projrust.htm#molasses http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/rust/rust_molasses.htm
