Thanks for replying. The blades and liner were very tight, I did not see any signs of wear to the inside of the liner. I did not pull the cam out, as the bolt did not budge, looking from the end of the pump it looked ok, I didn't see signs of excessive wear, I only remember 4 lobes though... -

Solved it! took it to my neighbor who has a press and with a little pressure they came right out. Wish the manual would had said that! -

How do you remove the drive bushings from the steering box? Are they pressed in? I have tried to drive them out using a block of wood and a 2 lb hammer with no luck. Thought about heating with a torch and trying to drive them out, but if they are pressed I don't think that would work... -

I guess its buyer be ware, was the pump you are refering to a suposed "rebuilt pump" or one the the aftermarket new ones? Have you ever come across one of the aftermarket brands, if so what is your opinion. I'm not counting out having mine rebuilt, I'm just weighing my options and trying to... -

Leaks like a syve, runs rough, starts ok, when you disconnect all 3 lines from the injectors as to bleed the air from the lines, 1 & 2 have good volume but 3 is considerbly less. I have always added Lucas injector cleaner since the mandate for ULSD, thats when it began to leak, cleaned the... -

Thanks for your reply, but I"m looking for actual facts, some one who has first hand knowledge of these pumps, not opinions. I know these pumps don"t possess the quality of a new OEM pump. A rebuilder is in the business of making money and building a good reputation. I doubt they would... -

My '72 2000 with a CAV injection pump constantly drips fuel from around the throttle shaft, while running. It was fine until I was forced to use ULSD. Because of the low sulphur content I began adding Lucas to the fuel. My guess is it (the Lucas) cleaned out all the gum & varnish from around... -

I had the same problem on a '65 3000 diesel. the end of the cable was worn to the point that it was slipping inside the gearbox on the generator. Thus the swinging effect on the tac needle. If the grease doesn't help look at the cable ends for signs of wear. -
