    Try to focus on another good year. Push those vengeance thoughts out of your head. I do know that seems simple but you said you made it a year. That's something to celebrate right there. What helps me is to set short term goals. Just don't give up.

    One more thing to point out. If you go by a hydralic shop and get 1/4 inch hydralic hose it will last decades longer than that thin tubing will.

    The truck should be a 71 or 72 . If the inside door panel Is metal 71. if its plastic its72.

    On early chevys the ground went just to the fire wall. It would help if this is the case on this Merc to go to the engine block.

    I'll offer one suggestion. pull valve cover and check valve lash. I had a problem on a Cat pony motor not long ago and it was a lose valve adjuster on an intake valve. May swap the coil on the ignition also.

    On my AC66 it has a slip rachet device that is spring loaded. Not a true slip clutch with disk. May need to back off the nut on the one large spring.

    Just another step. Take a set of jumper cables and connect the battery ground to the starter case and positive side to the starter post. What you are checking by this is the starter has a good ground. Six volt starter should work just fine 12 volt battery. My Case dc 3 has been set up...
