Aftermarket Power Steering Pumps for Ford 3000 TractorsF

Howdy, I have noticed that virtually all aftermarket PS pumps with the self-contained reservoir have the relief valves set at 1000-1100 psi. The original Ford PS pumps were set at 650 psi. I would think that the increased pressure would be detrimental to to steering cylinders and control...

    Rear Tire Investment Decision

Firestone Tires are made about three miles from my place. Just outside yhe city limits of Des Moines. Titans are made at a plant about six miles as the crow flies in south east Des Moines-inside the city, so they might not be as good.

    O'Reilly Auto Parts

My brake booster went bad in my Mustang. I went to NAPA and Carquest-both warehouse stores. Neither had one in stock, and NAPA said they didn't have one in their nationwide system. Heading bac home, I'm going past O'Reillys and figure why not. They didn't have one in stock-no surprise. BUT he...

    Change Brake Fluid ?

That silicone brake fluid is great. These guys that never change their fluid must not keep their vehicles long enuf to experience a problem. I've seen the pitting that can't be honed out of a master cylinder and wheel cylinders too. It's from the alcohol absorbing the moisture in the air, same...

Valve Timing on 67 Mustang with 289

Tom 43, mine runs like that and I have replaced the timing chain/sprockets and damper and lastly, the distributor. I've come to the conclusion that it's sticky valves. Doesn't do it running down the road.

    electricity question???

B&D, Since ONE wire has the 230 volts in it in Germany, how would one go about connecting it here? Tying the two conductors together at the outlet? I"m just asking because I didn"t realize Europe was set up that way voltage wise. Would the two conductors be phased correctly? Or would there be a...

OT: update on belt throwing mower

You mower engine pulley should have belt stabilizers-a rod that you have to loosen and move to replace the belt. Is this missing? Even my old Dynamark had those. Keeps the belt from "derailing". I'd also bet your deck has something similar. Maybe it came off and you don't realize it's missing.

    O/T This Is A Disgrace!!!!

It"s all about the money. Years ago, the Methodist church wanted to combine our church with a city church, our church averaged 20 people a week. Our church is also on U.S. highway and a lurative $$$ location. Found out that IF our church ceased to exist, the property reverted to the family that...

    New Stanley Hammer

RobMD said "Stanley is crap. Buy Vaughan hammers." Buddy, you got that right. I"ve got two "999" 20 oz. Rip claw hammers that are over forty years old-bought "em new at Sutherland Lumber for less than $3.00 apiece. With the wood handle, I"ve built many houses with those hammers and got real...

Ceramic resistor - I think I know what is going on with this

Dell, I am ashamed to say that back in the 70's when I got my 2n, the resistor was junk. Now I knew I needed a resistor in the circuit and I had a Chrysler ceramic resistor in the barn, still in the box. I put that on and the tractor behaved real similar to his-wouldn't start when hot. even made...

    O.T. Teachers

To keep this tractor related, my kindergarten teacher was Miss Helen Wood, granddaughter of the Wood Brothers Threshing Machine Company founders. She never married and lived in a mansion that overlooked the factory. She taught all her life and when she retired she was earning more than any other...

    sears gas pressure washer

Can you unbolt the head off that pump? My SIL's pump was working like yours and we took the head off and there were little STONES holding the plastic valves open. He's on well water. Stones may be from his water, but ennyway, took the stones out and was just like new.
