    new valve guides

Yes, but there were none on the intakes. PO did some engine work because it has ajustable lifter's, not the original solid. I will try what Bob suggested, and try the dish soap. I had tried the grease, didn't work. Thank's for all the help.

    new valve guides

I am replacing the valve guides, springs, keeper's, and lifters in my 47 2N 6 volt front mount. Am having trouble getting the valve guide with the valve stem seal back in the block. Is there a trick to it? There were no valve stem seal's when I took them out.

    Stubborn 2N

Have been trying to get my '47 2N 6 Volt front mount going. I checked compression and had no readings so I pulled the head and found most of the valves open. When I turned the engine over, none of them moved. The tractor had sit for 2 years. Is this going to get expensive?

    carb number

I have a "47 2N 6 volt front mount. I need to rebuild the carburater. This web site list"s two different kit"s depending on the carb number. I can"t find a number on mine. Am I missing something?

    Still won't start

I got the plug out of the bottom of the carburater and there is a steady stream of gas for 30 seconds. I got a sparkplug with a 3/16" gap and have a good spark. Still won't start. I don't have much more hair to pull out.

    Stubborn 2N

Yep, Had a steady stream about 6-7 seconds and then just drips. Had gas leak earlier so I figured all was good. Thanks.

My carb does not have a bolt in the bottom, it is a solid plug with no head.

    Stubborn 2N

Bought this 47 2N 6volt front dist. 3yrs ago. It was getting harder and harder to start late last fall so I put new plugs and rebuilt the carb. It started right up then but not when it came time to pull snow. So this fall I re-rebuilt the carb, new plug wires, new wireing harness, new amp meter,new...
