12v Voltage Regulator Damage
I was told by a friend whom runs a alternator generator business that a generator and regulator should be tuned before use. Otherwise the regulator will look like the above picture. -

Info on the 641
Shorten the rod to take play out. Here again, my 641 with new clutch still has the pedal lower than I would like. Yes I used the "E" gauge to set the pressure plate. I attached the image from the service manual for others whom may need to adjust their pressure plate. I find the above... -

I should have mentioned that the proofmeter is connected to the back of the hydraulic pump near the ring gear. -

The tachometer on a ford is called a proofmeter (if you had to replace one). Usually the cable is the first to go bad. Presuming it has stopped working. Yes the largest indicator on the dash is the proof meter. If it has the correct gas tank the dash should have a functioning gas gauge... -

Repurpose, reuse
To the original poster. Here in Maine they used to use rollers like that. They were usually made out of granite. Back in the 1920's they didnt plow snow. They packed it down with a roller. -

Ford 640 Hydraulics Problem
Just curious. (not certain of the terminology here). The quadrant that the lift handle works in? Did you try loosening the 4 nuts that hold the quadrant to the tractor and then try to rotate the quadrant counter clockwise? It is a common occurence. People will service the brake that is... -

Agreed. Get a bearing seperator. You can easily rent them for about $10 a day or you can buy a cheap one from Amazon for around $70...
