Ford 172 gas Burning up condenser

You are geniuses! I bought a new screw and tightened down the condenser and it works!!! This is unbelievable. What can I fix next??? The kitchen faucet? The sticking door handle? Common core math? Thanks all!

Ford 172 gas Burning up condenser

I have a 1959 ford 172 gas engine in a an old omc770 wheel loader. I swapped the engine from a diesel that blew up about 6 months ago. The gas engine ran well for about 4 months, maybe about 4 hours of total run time. Then it started running really rough, so I replaced the points only. It...

Owatonna / Mustang 770 wheel loader weak hydrostatic drive

I got the new filter installed. I didn't see any shaving in the old filter and old oil. I drove the loader to a curb and tried to go up the curb while lifting a 2k lb log AND while I retracted the tilt cylinders fully which caused the engine to almost stall. The mast still lifted the log...

Owatonna / Mustang 770 wheel loader weak hydrostatic drive

I agree. The hydro unit was drained when I removed the engine. I refilled it with the new engine but didn't change the filter because I couldn't find one anywhere. I now have a new filter coming. I wondered if air is in the lines too

Owatonna / Mustang 770 wheel loader weak hydrostatic drive

I put the old filter in a coffee can and plan to cut it open (it's a canister filter element) when the replacement filter arrives. I need to make sure it fits before I destroy the old one. I inspected the clutch cable operation when the engine was out. It's basically in an "always engaged"...

Owatonna / Mustang 770 wheel loader weak hydrostatic drive

I'll feel pretty foolish if it's the clutch and I didn't check it before I installed the engine. This was not an easy install.

Owatonna / Mustang 770 wheel loader weak hydrostatic drive

I will check the pump for the connectors. Once I receive and install the filter, I'm going to try driving up to a curb and stall the machine while trying to pick up 4000 or 5000 lbs and see if it will pick it up while I'm stalled. I would assume it wouldn't pick it up if it's the clutch...

Owatonna / Mustang 770 wheel loader weak hydrostatic drive

The old engine was diesel and the tachometer didn't work. I can hook up a tachometer at some point but it really sounded like the rpms were pretty high. Do you know typical rpm range for Ford gas 172? This is a frustrating one. So many possibilities and factors

Those manuals are for a different model skid steer. Mine is an omc/mustang 770. I have a parts manual and an operators manual

I didn't see any metal shavings in the filter. It was pretty clean.

Owatonna / Mustang 770 wheel loader weak hydrostatic drive

I didn't remove the clutch or pressure plate. I bought a used engine that came with clutch and pressure plate. I didn't take the pressure plate or clutch off because I didn't have an alignment tool when I would go to put it back on. They can be separated. Ford 172 gas engine

Yes there is a small Cessna pump coming off the gearbox. I believe it operates the other hydraulic functions, cylinders etc. Or does it also have something to do with propulsion? The hydraulic cylinders have plenty of power. The old filter isn't bad at all. The oil appeared normal
