John Deere 40 Friction Disc Part II

So my 40 is still fighting me on the friction disc replacement. I got the front pin out that holds the retainer in on the hood side. However, the pin that holds the throttle lever on wont drive out for anything. Any ideas on how to get that thing out? Drilling it out has crossed my mind but I...

    school tax time

As a current highschool student I get to see how ridiculous the system is every day. Our school has 2,000 students. As a result we have 1 principal, 5 vice principals, and a secretary for all 6 of them! They have "5 star" offices...while our science books refer to the Soviet Union in the present...

    Farmall B revs high

Thanks for the response. How would I fix this? There is a large screw on top of the governor housing, a large bolt/nut on the bottom and a small screw also on the bottom. These look like they would be used for some form of adjustments. Would any of those control my revving issue? ~~WT

    Farmall B revs high

A few weeks ago I picked up a Farmall B that needed a radiator. The fan had flown through the radiator, so I replaced both the fan and the radiator. I started it for the first time today and realized I have another problem. The engine revs very very high regardless of the throttle lever...

    TE20 Oil filter spring

So the fun begins with my TE20 and already I am in need of hard to find parts. Where can I get the spring that forces the oil filter (and assorted goodies) down in the oil pan? I bought the tractor with the pan off and the spring is missing. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

    TE20 Identity Crisis

I bought a TE20 several weeks ago that was shipped here to the States. However I have a question. The tag in the steering column has "Standard Engine Co." stamped on it. However, the engine is a Continental. So, has this tractor had an engine swap done to it? Thanks for any help ~~WoT

    STOCK Antique tractors???

It is difficult for me, after having posted in a thread on the subject of decreased interest in tractor pulling, to watch this thread unfold the way it has. Though we may have our differences you must admit that we hold a certain, however distant, kinship through out mutual love of tractors...

Is tractor pulling taking a back seat!

Well this 16 year old would pull if I could get new tires on my Jd A...or when I get around to fixing low range in my '37 B, or if my JD40 would pull worth a crap. I might work on that 40 some...hmm I see a build in my future! ~~WOT

    John Deere 40 Friction Discs

The throttle on my 40U wouldn't stay where I put it, so I bought the friction discs to tighen it up. Now, however, the question is where in the heck do they go and how to I get them there? Thanks guys...I feel like an idiot! ~~WOT
