    I am trying to rewire a tractor using a Delco 10DN 12 V alternator and voltage regulator. Horses ate all the old wiring. The tractor is a MH 33 but I don't think that really matters, since it originally had a 6V generator. I have the alternator, VR, amp gauge, a key switch, light switch...

    Dont panic, you can still get it in with the hood in place. In fact to attach at the adjusting point for the shutters, the hood has to be on. The rod will slide in from the dash end.
