    1st reduction noise

    38 D--We were sure the noise was coming from the right side reduction bearing. Replaced both bearings still have howl as soon as any the least amount of strain is applied. Like now, jacked up, put in gear, engage clutch all is quite, as soon as you apply the brake the howl comes in, same as...

    Janicholson, glad to see some one saved one of the "Blows", they use to run out of here. What no one said was about the terrific noise they made, but they were a hoss in there time for sure. Num 8 had a bad wreck about the Wyo/Nebr line in the early 60's.

    Looking at a H that has a stuck engine and found antifreeze in the oil.(1/2 gallon) Tractor has been setting for who knows how long. Question do H and M's have wet or dry sleeves? Thanks if you can help any at all.

    .Just finished a 39 B, had the most worn guides and valves I have ever seen. Even with this the valves must have been sticking as the 1 rocker broke and 2 were bent. Don't know if this is the same as yours but on the 39 B there is a trough on the inside of the valve cover that distributes oil...
