    3 pt stopped working

Sorry.. I left out a lot of details. It's the F40 (same as the MH/MF50). I've removed and cleaned the filter. Verified fluid level is good. I'm not sure what stuck spool means but I'll look into that. On previous posts under my profile I detailed some tests I did. It was losing height on...

    3 pt stopped working

I've been putting this project off until the winter. All summer I've been mowing with the deck chained to a fixed height. I think my hydraulic pump is shot but I'm curious if there's a sure-fire way to verify this before I open things up? I put a gauge on the top cover and I get 0 psi when...

Weak 3 point hydraulic lift- Massey 65

Just looking at some aftermarket pumps on eBay seems to indicate they all have the relief valve installed. Some pictures show that smaller hole, so that's probably by design. I would think the danger would be if pressure got too high It would crack the top cover or explode the pump into pieces.

    Z134 - F40 Hydrauluc Fluid ?

Anyone know if either one of these will work in a Ferguson F40 transmission/hydraulics? Pretty good price at Bomgaars. Several of you have expressed concern of my use of 10w30.

Chain them down and see what pressure you get. https://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/attachments/dscn9990-jpg.114214/

Weak 3 point hydraulic lift- Massey 65

I'm in a similar situation. My 3pt just stopped lifting completely. I put the gauge on the right side of the top cover and was getting 2300psi when I had the arms chained down. If you've got a diverter on there it might be different. I suspect the piston rings are shot on mine. I've never...

    F40 3-point lift height

Well, since posting this I had to mow my grass. Since I had no lift on my 3pt, I used a set of mower deck height adjustment chains to lift the front of my mower. Sometime in the 8hrs of mowing, the hydraulic pressure was completely lost. If I stand on the arms and lift the lever... nothing...

    F40 3-point lift height

Not yet but that's my next move. As i understand, if there's oil raining down from the top, that's a sign that i may need new piston rings?

    F40 3-point lift height

The problem is it doesn't want to lift anything heavy. If i have my mower deck attached it can't lift it, so it just kinda drags along the ground. Box blade is a little lighter so it can lift it up a bit higher but nothing like it used to.

    F40 3-point lift height

OK. I got a gauge on it and chained the arms down as you showed in the picture. Pressure went up around 2200-2300 psi. I held it there for just a couple of seconds before i let the pressure off. I didn't know how long that test should be done but i could feel the engine starting to strain a bit...

There's no remotes on this F40. I'll look for something that resembles a port on the cover.
