Ford 8n spark

Just here to say that every “no fire” troubleshooting I’ve done has wound up being a bad ground connection. Once at the battery post after sitting up during the rebuild and once where the cable had significant corrosion where the lug bolts to the steering box.

Less helpful advice than others I’ve seen here, but I learned how alternators actually work AND rewired the whole damn tractor (small feat admittedly) only for some Redditor to suggest checking for an “invisible film” on the negative post.

Still not starting? Are we getting fuel into the carb?

Clean the carb and all the jets, then put it back on.

You may have a valve issue, but I’m really leaning on the timing part in this situation maybe not I maybe wrong. Any cracks in the intake manifold?

You cleaned all the points and checked everything you’re getting power there now. New plugs that are gapped .

You can do a compression test. Are the plugs on the right firing order?

All brand new plugs gapped to .025. pulled a cap and did a screw driver to plug test, jumped a 3/32 gap and was white.
Will it jump 3/16" - 1/4" gap from the cylinder head, that's from early 8n owners manual.
Also, 8n has a 4 speed where 2n, or 9n has a 3 speed. May be helpful to know which model.
Voltage Drop Test when turning the starter can determine the health of the battery and battery cables.
Get new meter batteries?
Original coils specs are:

Newer ones may have primary up to 1.5 ohms
