F-20 stuck pistons.

That’s quite a crankshaft design.
Rod clearances would have to be held to very exacting tolerance to support compression and combustion loading to maintain loaded operating of tractor.

Got the 2 stuck pistons out. Piece of hard wood and a 16lb hammer. Pistons moved right away.

My next task is knocking the sleeves out. Any pointers and advice for that?
make a puck for the bottom of sleeve and they can be pushed up with a hyd. jack and a piece of hard wood . dont take much as once they slide up a bit to clear o ring spot you done.

I cleaned the 2 stuck sleeves real quick to see if pitting and corrosion was a problem. I can't much issue after a quick hone.

these brgs can withstand more clearance , plus they are a slow turning engine.

i see a lot of pitting. but if thats all you got to work with it will have to do. the top picture sleeve is pretty rough shape. plus you need to find rings now. you be breaking them rings out in pieces. throw them pistons in a pail of light oil. instead of roasting wieners over your camp fire boil them pistons for a few hrs. now i can see 2 gouges in the 2nd sleeve.

I think what you are seeing is dirt and oil. I didn't spray and wipe it down. Quick and dirty check. I'm not done.
no i dont think so. so why would you not wipe the sleeves before a pic ? plus you dont keep honing in the grit. you need to keep wiping them as you go.

I wouldn’t do that .
Do what ?Give some spec’s then , I am not talking about way of spec. A nice snug crank is .0015. If them things run at .003 or .004 it’s not the end of the world. And to chug around the yard is no big deal. Be surprised how loose I have seen them. Plus our oils are better. Run a 40wt and she will be good. Plus they run on hardly any oil pressure.

It would definitely need to be cleaned out. Whatever sludgy oil is at the bottom is hanging onto to that old cartridge like glue.
