What is this knob on my B?

Call me crazy but I have had my Farmall B for 2 years and yesterday I first noticed the knob in the picture below. It rotates and currently it is rotated completely clockwise. My B has an electric power steering conversion and I'm thinking it might have something to do with that. I haven't tried turning it counterclockwise to see if I lose my power steering. Maybe that is the next step unless someone here knows for sure what it is.

Looks like a cheap pot knob from an electric guitar. Maybe you can adjust the gain on your B?

I put an automotive power steering on 460 farmall that did not have power steering and the kit included a adjustment knob for the amount of boost you wanted but instructions said to turn off when not using tractor to avoid battery drawdown.

We're leaving today on a trip to Canada. I'll look closer at it when we return in a week. My 3 tractors are at a facility 5 miles from home. Here is the only photo I have that shows the power steering, but I'll get some better ones when I return. This was taken at the place where I bought the tractor.

The PS is kind of ugly, in this case function over form is the winner I guess.

WOW, all that on a tractor that steers easy to start with? Mine sure doesn't. Maybe someone just wanted to see if it could be done.

I didn't need it but it was there when I bought it. I'm certainly not going to remove it. I just wanted a 2-seater so my wife and I could joy ride together. The double steering and double clutch brake set up was a bonus. It's fully operational from either side so I guess I could use it for driver's ed training .

Nah ...still interesting to see, just don't understand why it's needed

They put it on because of the additional drag of the sprocket and chain drive to the second steering wheel, set up so either could drive but not both.
