If you don't have the operator's manual you can download and save a free copy from the JD Ag & Turf Bookstore, here is a link to it.

Have your model (1010R, 1010RU, etc.) and serial number at hand as you will need at least the model to get the correct manual
On the home page Click Equipment Publications.
On the search page enter 1010 in the box to the right of model search you may get a dropdown list that has a number of 1010s listed when the alpha model designation beside the 1010. if yours is there click on it. If not, then click the search Icon.
You will need to sort down through the list you get looking for Tractor, Base Unit and serial number range if there are some with serial numbers shown.
When you find the best match for your tractor click on it and a window will open and show available manuals. watch for the language as they are not all English.
When you find the one that best matches your tractor there is a download arrow to the right of the title. Click on it and a download to your computer or device will start. When it finishes you can save it to print from if you wish.
The Operator downloads are free. You have to purchase printed copies. The service and other manuals are there as well but all versions of those have to be purchased.
You can use the online parts catalog at jdparts.com for free.
