Finally had time to get some more pics of the old girl.

Grandfather bought it new, I've owned it since about 1990. Had gotten a bit rough over the years, I'd been threatening to clean it up and paint it seems like forever.

Got it in the shop last fall to do the head gasket and one thing led to another.

That's a stunner and over the moon with the history. Very, very good. My compliments.

Neat that you have your grandpa's tractor and use it.

You did a really nice job on it.
 
I never drove one. I grew up with an 8n Ford, with a Sherman step-up, and step-down transmission, and would like to compare them. Mark.


They're quite similar really, the Fergies have a bit slower reverse than the N series but yours overcome that with the up/down trans.

Overall, I think the Fergies are a better machine. But the Fords are pretty darn good just the same.

They'll both do a lot of work but to paraphrase what the man said:

"A man's gotta know his machine's limitations."
