Yes, Original 310 was o /h by not right shop. Did not deck the block, figuring out .....Father in law put the 1755 on the 15' bush hog, rank mowing, came back to the shed with dribbles down right side of #4. They picked it up , back to their shop, took head off, oh the gasket was bad, redid it, sent home.
He put it on the NH 7230 discbine, mowed, came back with same leaks. Different local mechanic took head off and first thing got his straight edge and found it was not right.
Elmer dealt with Tom and nephews at o Brian co implement, Welters didn't have a setup ready to go.
Obci sent this tub and motor on truck freight, it got swapped.
Welters just o/h the Perkins this March.

On and off I have been working on my ‘51 77. A few months ago, I had a guy who is a retired mechanic come in to help me figure out why one cylinder had low compression. Turned out to be valve adjustment. I gave him the carb rebuild kit I had and let him do that. New plugs and points and timing adjustment now has that engine humming like I remember from years ago.

I replaced the bushings and rubber torsion springs in the seat suspension and somehow was able to get those new rollers in the top part that slides.


Now that I am confident that the head doesn’t have to come off, I removed the manifolds. The exhaust manifold was cracked and I had bought a new one a while back to replace it. I was hoping to reuse the intake but I am not confident I will be able to get the remnants of the bolts out without ruining it, especially the two in the back that thread into casting with no opening out the bottom.

I wasn’t going to open up the cans of worms that are called PTO and clutch since they are working well. But I thought that I might regret not, at least, taking a look at the clutch while I had the fuel tank and control panel off. I could not get the PTO shaft out without pulling the entire housing off. Eventually got it separated from the housing with a couple of cushioned hits on the end of the shaft.

I took mine for its first ride down the road and back! Now I get to start on the loader.

I ground feed with the 1850, but the darned thing just ran the PTO. I had to do the rest.

Chopped another load of green feed for the beef cows an almost everyday chore unless it is raining. Used the 1655.

Ya, I had to do that too, but I used a silver tractor for that. The bunker is pretty much empty but for a little but of old stuff right in back. I've been dumping two buckets of that out to the cows every morning because the pastures are gone.

Still trying to figure out how to get the brake housing off. May have to fab up my own puller.

Bailey, the determined 21 yr old, hard at it after, cleaning up after bailing hay. I raked with the 88 D.
Two weeks ago.
No photo, I sprayed 100 gallons on 880 3pt. of Grazon Next and Tordon and 24d spiked. Thistles have been nuts here. GG Wes

Got the starter and generator off and ready to take down to the local auto electric shop to have checked over. Nice that the owner has some old tractors of his own that he likes to tinker with.

Good thing! You got the goodie out of that. I got my replacement 880 clutch and pressure plate from here, it came quick. Good luck. GG Wes
