One thing we have found when rebuilding any Farmall letter series motor........ always, always disassemble, measure and then order parts. There is no such thing as "always" or "never" when it comes to these motors.

No. The lower bore is slightly larger on the C-135. There were at least 3 different lower bores on various engines in that family. There were also at least 2 different over-all length of the sleeves.

Back in 01-2012, I ordered an overhaul kit for my 53 Super C. I called YDT and gave them the serial number off the seat tag and the numbers off the block. They sent me kit number 130578 and it went from a 3 1/8 bore to a 3 1/4 bore. They don't ship from YDT tractors warehouse. They are shipped out of a company called Tisco-Woods Parts in Rockford, Ill. Their part number was EOK1159. It shows their part number on the YDT web page now as BEKH1159-LCB. On the Tisco packing slip, it has a toll free number of 800-853-2651 that will help you with any questions about the kit. The best advice I can give you is make sure everything is super clean before going back together. The big thing that I found was about a cup full of casting sand in the inside of the block. You need to be sure and clean that out before pulling the old sleeves so it doesn't get all over the crank. I also did a dry fit with the new sleeves. Everything fit just fine. Also while I had it apart, I took the head to a machine shop and had them go thru it and put everything new in it. They squared it and took 50 thousand off the face.

To clarify: the TISCO brand has been under the SMA (Southern Marketing Affiliates) umbrella since December of 2016. Most of the part numbers are still available or cross referenced. You can look at things on the SMA/TISCO site however sales are through dealers, no direct to end user sales.

With any rebuild kit always check the quality of the "new" parts before assembly. I did my A several years ago and used a similar kit. The rings were already in stalled on the pistons which I found a little odd so I pulled them off and checked the rig gap in the new cylinders. The rig gaps were all over the map. From barely acceptable to completely worn out. I would have put together a rebuilt/worn out engine. I had to order a set rings from other source and brand to get decent rings. Just a heads up....
