A fellow Funk owner told me that he believes Funk used Minneapolis-Moline starter drives. these aren't pulled into the ring gear like were common for Ford at the time. They are shoved into the ring gear as they are today. It looks like a mirror image of the Lincoln / Truck 337 starter drive. There are very faint markings on the body but too faint to even imagine one letter. Does this look familiar?

EDIT: These are custom built starters and the nose cones are said to be made specifically for the 6 cylinder and V8 adaptation to N Series Fords.
