Looking at an allis B on Marketplace

It says it's a B but I'm thinking it's a wide front C. Most B's have a wishbone type front axle, this one has what appears to be an adjustable straight axle on the front.

My understanding is that the adjustable straight front axle was an option for a B.

If it is the one from Cecil Ohio for 500 it is a B. Quick and easy to tell is the steering arm, The B will point down and the C steering arm will point up. That is if it has never been here at my place then one could never tell.

Another way to tell if you have a rear view is the drawbar the B is narrower and the drawbar is more of a half circle where the C has a straight section on both sides

Starting with the 1940 model year buyers could option up (for a fee) for an adjustable straight front axle. Otherwise they were built with the arched axle as standard equipment>

Yes it’s the one in Cecil, basically just looking for a set of mounted tires. Is there a quick way to identify the 125 cid engine without having the serial number?

No way to be sure without removing the head. Very few people will rebuild using the smaller piston when for the same money you can have a stronger tractor. All other engine parts for the B's, C's and CA's are the same.
When I saw that ad I said to myself, at 88 I do that a lot now that I am 88, I wish I was 20 years younger and not in a wheelchair. I would have been it the truck before my laptop lid was down.
