fuel bowl on 40 B

Did the B Farmall come out with the small bowl such as the early fords have/had, or did they have the regular standard bowl, as is on the H & Ms

I don’t know about Fords but they have a small bowl like a Cub. Not like the H or M.

Never looked at the manual for that. Good to know. Goes to your other thread about giving advice, I thought I knew. Truth is my Cub and Super C have small, my M is large. My B has none right now. I have a box full of both sizes and have bought a few over time. Gone back and fixed a couple so no telling which are which without looking at them close.

We have a couple drawers full of them in the shop. We even have several of the duel fuel assemblies, never had to use one,but have sold and shipped a couple. There are folks restoring the duel fuel systems. But they use gasoline in both tanks . No distillate around and kerosene is too expensive

Ahhh. The wonderful smell of distillate or as we called it - tractor fuel. Had its own special odor. Unbelievable that I can remember when it was 15 cents delivered to farm. Been a few years. Think it disappeared here around 1972. Had a super mta at the time and it was no problem to run better than 4-5 gallons an hour thru it in the spring getting ground ready.

Might be easy to stop the leak. Certainly cheaper. A lot of people complain that the new ones don't fit their fuel line without an adapter. That's a pain from my view. Can you tell which connection it's leaking from?

Definitely easy to fix. Usually not much wrong . New screen and cork gasket and don't over tighten

The glass bowls can also warp if they are overtightened. Just check that glass sealing lip on a flat surface, and sand with very very fine grit paper if necessary. That could also be your problem.

Like grandpa Love said, repack your valve if that's where it's leaking, or get a new cork bowl gasket, make sure the glass isn't warped and reinstall, making sure not to overtighten.

You can still buy power kerosene in Australia, but it isn't cheap now. Current price for a 44 gallon drum (I think that's 50 U.S. gallons?) is about $900. I've got one drum of it for my Farmall F12.
