Powdercoating anyone?

I don't remember if the primer I got was from them or from powder buy the pound. I could look and see. But i do remember that whichever one had 2 choices and I got the epoxy one. I'd done a fair amount of parts "directly to metal" without primer but I've primered everything else I've done since. Everything I have primered will either take some heat cycles like the rotor "hats" and the outsides of the drums and/or might have occasional fluid on them like the backing plates which might have some brake fluid dribble onto them while bleeding or gas, as in the gas tank for my Kohler generator. I did the calipers before I had any primer so they are direct to metal. I thought about pulling my new wheel cylinders apart and doing those but I did leave those bare.

I am 77 years old, and over the last twenty years I have primed nearly everything that I have painted. In earlier years I didn't understand that finish coats are made to take a beating but they are not so good as primers for adhesion. There is some science involved.
