Yellow or red bottle Heet?
They are different recipes or used to be.
I would think you would need to mix well.

You have 10 gal of water? If so drain all in container(s). Water is is heavier, will settle to bottom, syphon off gas from top.

2 bottles of Heet isn't going to cure 10 gallons of water in a gas tank. If you got 10 gallons of water in a tank of gas, You need to drain the tank and get all the water out. As posted you may be able to let the water separate, out of the tank in containers, then salvage some off the top of the water. The Heet is going to try to keep some of that water suspended in the gas.

What is this tank in and how much does it hold?

Edit: Sorry, I missed the H in the title. An H gas tank appears to hold approximately 17 gallons. so depending on how much gas was in the tank when you added the water it is over half water in the tank, maybe 3/4 or more. Drain it.

If it runs at all tells me there isn't much in there.
After the tractor sits, the gas will be on top of the tank and the water will be on the bottom.
Loosen the line at the carburetor and let it drain out until you get pure gas.

It will also accumulate in the fuel bowl. Easy to dump it when you see it.

As John in Ct posted, get a Mr. Funnel or similar and run the gas through it. If your cans are collecting water, you should use the Mr. Funnel all the time.

It is a brand of funnel with a special filter built in it that will pass fuel through it but not water. Web search MR FUNNEL.

They do say some additives will affect the filtering and let water pass.

How much water? Can't be much? Your sediment bowl should catch it. If it's more than the sediment bowl can collect,drain it.

Since the water settles to the bottom, draining from the lowest point sounds a lot better than adding more stuff to ten gallons and hoping it disappears. Catch what comes out in a clear jar and let it sit a few minutes. You should be able to see the water separate, and once you're getting clean gas you know you've actually removed it. Dump the sediment bowl too since that's exactly where the water wants to end up.

Do this, then if you have a sediment bowl under your gas tank if that never fills completely with water then you should never get water back in the carb. After the carb is drained the tractor should return to to running as it did before the water episode.

Welp AL-KI-HOL attracts water and the only way to get rid of the water is to DRAIN it out . A steel gas tank on a tractor not used much and not kept FULL all the time will gain moisture and sweat big time in wide temp swings bring on more issues . YUP MOTION LOTION is expensive and ya want to play yous gots to pay. Just be thankful it's not diesel

So....if I get an old Farmall gas tank and dump in a couple gallons of ethanol mix gasoline how long must I wait before I find water? I have used nothing but cheap gas with ethanol in my A for several years, never fill it all the way up, never run it out .....so in theory,it's got gas that's several years old in the tank. Strangely it's never produced any water. I'm in Alabama 90% humidity is common. Temperature as low as 0°f and as high as 103°f........ Where's the water? Ain't in the sediment bowl.

Technical term for what alcohol does in petrol is that it is miscible with both petrol and water, so they all mix. Degree of mixing is dependent on proportions of each fluid. The alcohol doesn't get rid of water, it just creates a proportional mix, that is, distributes water relatively evenly throughout the fuel, so that water droplets do not form in the fuel and a motor will run if the level of contamination is not too great. If the level of contamination is too high, alcohol just helps mix water through all the fuel and the motor will misfire or fail to run.
Basically, if you want to drain water from fuel, don't add alcohol, but do let it stand long enough for the water to sink to the bottom of the fuel tank and remove it as outlined above.
