Farmall 560 brake setting question

This morning I was cleaned the left brake on the 560. When I push in on the brake pedal, how far should the brake pedal move before the brake engages?

I like free pedal distance 3/4 to 7/8 inch from top plate for me . Your tractor is up to you depending on what you’re doing.
Because the 560 is such a fast tractor. 18 mph , I want my brakes with zero pedal fades pulling hay wagon s in road gear.
Question why did you only do one side ?

The left side brake needed to be pushed farther to "engage" the brake. I thought something was broken or not working internally. Everything internally was a little dirty, but working ok. Now I am guessing that someone left the left brake "engaged" and drove for a short distance wearing the brake more than the right brake.

Right now, the brake pedal needs to be depressed about 1 1/8th inch before engagement. I will probably adjust the brake to 7/8 inch before engagement.

There are plenty of situations where one brake gets a lot more use than the other. Plowing with the right wheel in the furrow sets things up for using the left brake. Somebody could have habitually turned one direction at the end of the field and used a brake to assist the turn. And then, there are the people that just habitually use one brake pedal when stopping. Look at the diamond pattern on the pedals. You can see some big variation in wear between the three pedals.
