Rear Axle Hub Help...

Ok, I finally managed to get the brakes and hub off drivers side. Issue is 2 of the 6 bolts are mushroomed. Is online the only place to find replacements? This thing hasn't been touch in many, many years lol. Also, the hub wiggle little bit on the shaft before removal, would it need replaced? Didn't see any pitting or chunks missing., bearing looks good too.

I need to replace a seal on my 8N this Winter. I have always read that the shaft was rare to need to replace but if the hub was loose that you should replace it?

Concerning the bolts, four of the bolts are different than the other two. I believe four have the "mushroomed" head with the splines under the head while there other two are hex. If there are some long hex bolts instead of the mushroomed head, then they likely have been replaced at some point, which isn't an issue.

As for the hub, best to reinstall the hub on the same splines it came off of as per the bulletin, especially if it was tight when it is taken off. But if it is already loose, I have had luck rotating the hub so it is on different splines and the hub will tighten up. The second thing to try is put a big washer or two under the nut to push the hub on the axle splines further and that will tighten it up, especially if the hub was not very loose. There is a limit as to how far you can push it on, as the hub will eventually start rubbing the brake springs. Third thing to try if those don't work is get a new hub, which if the shaft splines are not worn bad, will fix the problem. Seems like the hub is softer and wears quicker. Also, your shaft does not look that worn. And the last thing to do if all else fails is replace both the hub and axle, but this is usually only necessary if the shaft splines visibly show excessive wear.

Its looks obvious you have a well worn hub. The axle is harder to tell so I will tell you when in doubt what I do. I get a new hub and install it on the axle, I hammer the nut tight with a 1/2" impact then take the nut back off. I don't have a pix of what it should look like I am sure some here does. If it looks good the hub is proud of the axle and all it takes is a little bit I put the axle in my press remove the hub then move on to installing the parts on the tractor. This is a go no go function and saves wasting time and parts assembling the axle and finding out the axle is worn to much for a good fit.
